Limnaea (Great Pond Snail)

Limnaea (Great Pond Snail)

The great pond snail, being a general feeder, has a strong leaning towards animal matter, and if put into a tank containing hydra will soon eliminate them.

It is quite safe to put these snails in an aquarium containing young fry.

The gouramis are some of the few fish that will eat hydra. They may not, however, consume all of them.
