Mosquito Fish (Heterandria Formosa)

Mosquito Fish (Heterandria Formosa)

This is one of the smallest fish known to science, the males being only 3/4 inch long. The females are slightly larger, about 1.125 inch.

Their principal colouring is olive-brown with black markings.

Owing to the tiny size of the mosquito fish, they are best kept in an aquarium of their own, or at least in a tank containing only fish of a similar size.
